Painting in Primary Colors - Christine Otis (North Collier Regional Park)

THIS IS AN OFFSITE CLASS THAT WILL TAKE PLACE AT NORTH COLLIER REGIONAL PARK.

This class explores primary colors and the importance they have in creating an image. From Margaret and H. A. Rey’s, The Adventures of Curious George, to the artist Piet Mondrian, primary colors play a vital role in conveying a message. Students will learn how to effectively mix colors to create secondary colors (orange, green and violet) and tertiary colors like yellow-orange, yellow-green, red-orange, red-violet, blue-green, and blue-violet from primary colors. Primary colors build the foundation of the color wheel, and students will learn how to bring them into their work and how those colors “speak” to an audience.
